Steph - my subject is dealing with family illness

back

stephHI I’m Steph and I wanna talk about family illness.. My mam was diagnosed with breast cancer I know its hard for her to go through it and I have been trying to help round the house to take some pressure off her.

I dunno who to talk to most of the time I will talk to a mate but I don’t want them to get bored with want I am saying.  I feel depressed sumtimes and feel like I have had to grow up fast.  I got through it by speaking to my family and just trying to be there for my mam.  I used to look on google and try to find information on how I could be more supportive. I didnt like to get upset in front of my mam which at times waspretty hard for me to deal with.

My dad was also poorly with Chrons Disease and he had to have his main bowel removed.  He thought his life was over and I tried to help him build up his confidence.  He has had 5 main operations and 16 minor ones.  I was really scared when he was going through all this stuff and I wanted him to know I would always be there for him and that he was strong enough to get through it.  I looked at websites to find out what was going to happen to him.

I go to dancing at PAG and now I help coaching the younger ones, this as help take my mind off things and I am enjoying it.  I want to go in the RAF and I am gonna work hard to achieve my dreams.

UPDATE:

Mams in remission and has been given all clear

Dad is back at work and getting on with his life

I am nowat Distinctive Training doing a Customer Service NVQ.  I am happy, more confident and go out with my mates more.  I am always going to be there for my mam and dad as they are my inspiration
